The McRaes have two delightful rooms to offer in their charming clapboard cottage on the lagoon. With bright en-suite bathrooms, wooden floorboards and supremely tasteful furnishings, it feels like a privilege to be there. Kiloran McRae spoils you rotten with an evening aperitif, fruit and chocolate by your bedside and a sumptuous made-to-order breakfast in the morning.
Then there's the basket of DVDs for your mini flat-screen, wireless Internet and bathroom lotions and potions. It's lucky that the only local restaurant (Rectory Café) is absolutely delicious, with al fresco waterside tables. Or you can really push the boat out and take a late-night water taxi home after dinner in the city.
