Run very much like a family home by Roger and Tess, but with a front door keypad and no curfew ('we're not exactly a convent.'), the six bright bedrooms are simple and contemporary in design. A communal computer with Internet access sits on the landing near to the TV lounge/library. Clean bathrooms are shared, and the continental kitchen breakfast around the communal table is often an excuse for a healthy debate.
If you're not up for quantum physics with your cornflakes, you can eat in the peaceful terraced garden and then take a short stroll to the hippyville area of Kensington Market for coffee. For extended stays, the couple also owns an equally homely but higher-end guesthouse just a few blocks away.
